Visible differences can reflect biology, age structure, variant distribution, puberty, survival, ascertainment, documentation level, treatment exposure, or small cells. The information currently available from connected people cannot establish a sex-specific or age-specific mechanism.

POPULATION / COMPARATOR

Who or what should be compared?

The currently connected group includes 38 males and 25 females and provides hypothesis-generating context only. A prospective study must report its independently enrolled sex, age, and developmental groups and have enough participants for every planned comparison.

STUDY DESIGN

How could the question be tested?

Use longitudinal age- and puberty-aware models with molecular subgroup, relatedness, additional findings, documentation level, and baseline function retained. Pre-specify interactions and suppress unstable small cells rather than turning descriptive differences into biological claims.

EVIDENCE GATE

What would support the proposed link?

the interaction is prospectively specified, adequately powered, robust to molecular and ascertainment covariates, and reproduces in an independent cohort or model. A cross-sectional subgroup difference alone does not advance.

STOP RULE

What would weaken it?

the result depends on one age band, one family, one molecular subgroup, one level of documentation, post-hoc cut points, or a sparse cross-tab that cannot support stable or privacy-safe inference.
